**Maintenance**: Most of the maintenance on this machine will be done by the Embroidery Champion.  However, you may need to do some quick fixes during normal use of the machine.

__Replacing a broken needle__: If you break a needle on the machine, it is ok to just move your thread to a different needle to complete your project (just make sure you change it in the system too) and leave a note for the Champion.  However, if you really want to change it, here's the process (or see video below):

  - Gather supplies from the embroidery toolbox (located under the machine) - you need the 2mm allen wrench, pliers, and a new needle. 
  - Using the 2mm allen wrench, loosen the screw that holds the needle just enough to pull the old needle out with pliers.
  - Insert the new needle with groove side facing forward (you'll have to feel for the groove with fingernail, it can be hard to see). Rotate the needle about 15 degrees to the right, then, holding the needle in place with the pliers, use the allen wrench to tighten the screw.

__Oiling the machine__: if you are working on a large project or are running several projects on the same day, you may need to oil the bobbin hook. This needs to be done after every 8 hours of use.  See video for how to do this.
